At W. Rubens, we consider sustainability in every aspect of the business — be it in how our products were originally developed and manufactured, how they are packaged, shipped, used and cared for, and finally in how you can recycle and upcycle your T-Shirt.
We blend traditional skills with digital expertise, working with the next generation of creative talent. We take time to get things right first time, we use zero waste cutting principles, and we have a closed loop on the life cycle.
From its conception, W. Rubens developed T-Shirts by considering the most sustainable processes available whilst ensuring they remained a luxury item. This was a long, sometimes challenging, but ultimately fulfilling process. Even our packaging lives by these rules; we worked with Avenue Litho a London-based stationery company to create our ‘signature ‘ packaging. Each one is handmade in England out of sustainable and certified materials. They are constructed to be durable, reusable and fully recyclable. Just like our T-Shirts, we’ve not cut corners or skimped in anyway, The packaging is made with utmost respect for the craftsmanship and materials, which means you get your Rubens in a perfect condition. It is this attention to craft and using what we can locally that helps us continually reduce our carbon neutral to shipping on boats than planes — we are making the right choices where possible. We are not perfect, and we are not where we want to be yet, but we are continually assessing our practices to provide you with the highest quality item possible with the carbon cost and environmental impact in mind. At no point will we compromise on any aspect our integrity, values, or quality — we are incredibly proud of what we’ve created, and we will continue to refine and improve.
